Project description
The Greenpark development is a large-scale residential scheme providing a total of 371 units, offering a diverse choice of 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom houses, apartments, and duplexes. Beyond the high energy performance, the design focused on comprehensive resident amenity and site planning. This included the provision of essential social infrastructure, namely a 550 sq.m. dedicated childcare facility. The site layout incorporates extensive private, communal, and public open spaces, including balconies, terraces, private rear gardens, and dedicated play areas.
Furthermore, the development encourages sustainable travel patterns through the design of internal roads and pedestrian paths, well-lit cycle and walkways, and the inclusion of all associated hard and soft landscaping, boundary treatments, and waste management provision.
Our M&E scope focused on achieving industry-leading energy efficiency across the residential scheme. The core challenge was implementing mechanical and electrical systems to meet the stringent Near Zero Energy Building (NZEB) standards and secure the A-BER rating for every dwelling.
Key Sustainable M&E Design Features:
- Renewable Heating and DHW: Integrated state-of-the-art Air-to-Water Heat Pump systems across all units, providing highly efficient heating, cooling, and domestic hot water (DHW) generation.
- High-Performance Envelope: Guaranteed Part L Compliance by advising on and integrating high thermal U-values and advanced building envelope design to drastically minimise heat loss.
- Low Energy Ventilation: Designed and installed low-energy, demand-controlled ventilation systems to ensure excellent indoor air quality while minimising fan power consumption.
- Smart Energy Management: Specified and commissioned Smart Homes Technology within each unit to optimise energy usage and provide residents with real-time consumption feedback.
- E-Mobility Infrastructure: Provided full electrical design and installation of the Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Point infrastructure throughout the surface car parking areas.
- Utility & Infrastructure: Managed the design and connection of all piped infrastructural services, public lighting, and specialised plant (including the attenuation tank and related SUDS measures).
